The latest modification of the 234 series was the Sd.Kfz. 234/4 armored car armed with a long-barreled 75 mm Pak40/2 L/46 anti-tank gun, which was installed on the car by direct order of Hitler in order to create a highly mobile wheeled tank destroyer. In the period from December 1944 to March 1945, Bussing-NAG produced 89 heavy armored vehicles Sd.Kfz. 234/4.
