Ingredients
Country chicken - 1 kg
For Masala Paste
6-8 dry red chilis
2 tbsp dried & grated coconut
2 tbsp poppy seeds
water required to blend
3 tbsp groundnut oil
2 medium sized onions, chopped
2 tsp ginger garlic paste
salt to taste
1 tbsp red chili powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 cup chopped mint leaves
2 cups water
5 green chilis slit
1 tsp garam masala
coriander leaves for garnish
Method
Dry roast 6-8 dry red chilis, 2 tbsp dried & grated coconut, 2 tbsp poppy seeds
cool completely
blend into smooth paste by adding water as required
keep aside
Now in a kadai, pre-heat 3 tbsp groundnut oil
add 2 medium sized onions, chopped fry until golden brown
add ginger garlic paste sauté 1 minute
now add Country chicken, salt to taste, 1 tbsp red chili powder, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1/4 cup chopped mint leaves
cover & cook for 20 mins
add masala paste & 1 cup water
cover & cook for 20 mins
now add 5 green chilis slit & 1/2 tsp garam masala & 1 cup water
mix well
cover & cook for 5 mins
oil separates
Turn off flame
Garnish with coriander leaves
Country Chicken Curry is Ready
Serve hot with steamed rice or bagara rice
