The medieval church of St Peter, which was a chapel of the parish of Aylesbury , it was intact at the beginning of the 19th century but is now reduced to a ruin.

The church was restored in the late 16th century by Sir Henry Lee and formerly contained his tomb together with that of his wife Anne Vavasour; while the almshouse founded by him may have lain immediately to the south. At an earlier date the chapel, which is known to have been in existence by the 12th century, would have served the surrounding medieval village of Quarrendon Leas.
