Can you get rid of a peach canker sore? Sometimes. Depending upon where it is, and how's it's affecting your tree, there are ways to remedy it.
If the canker is on a limb that can easily be pruned, it's best to cut it and burn it - then disinfect your shears.
If your peach tree has a canker sore on the trunk, like ours, you might want to weigh your options. Scraping and sealing with pruning sealant can keep the damage to a minimum, but your tree may still struggle.
The best way to deal with peach canker sores is to avoid getting them as much as possible. Never use a weedeater close to the trunk of your tree. Make careful, strategic pruning cuts, and treat your tree for pests at the first sign of damage. Bark damage is one of the easiest ways for this fungal infection to occur.
