Sadly... newer model pixel phones as of 2022 will no longer offer unlimited photo backup to google photos (in storage saver mode). Literally, this was one of the BEST features of a pixel phone. Now it's gone.

Butt.. if you choose to purchase an older pixel phone (used)... you can still get the unlimited backup of photos with: pixel 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 phones.

Probably for financial reasons,.. google no longer offers unlimited photo backup on their newer pixel phones like pixel 5a and pixel 6.. and any newer pixel phones.

So.. to summarize:
Pixel 1 phone offers original image backup (worth it to get a used one for backup purposes

Pixel 2, 3, 4, 5 offers storage saver unlimited backup

Pixel 5a, 6, and newer phones NO LONGER offer unlimited photo backup to google photos.

Again why? Probably costs.
As I mentioned,.. this was one MAIN reason why I purchased a pixel phone. In the near future.. I will probably buy a different manufacturer like samsung or even one plus as they offer comparable phone experience.
