We start your Barossa Valley wine tour at a relaxing 9am picking you up at your accommodation or a pre arranged point in Adelaide. We make our way out of Adelaide through the Adelaide Hills with our first stop the famous Whispering Wall where you will be fascinated by its famous acoustic qualities.
Borassa Valley Wine ToursOur first winery is the beautiful and historic Château Yaldara, this is one of the most photographed buildings in South Australia and no trip to the Barossa Wine Valley is complete without getting a photo in front of this majestic building. Enjoy some great wines or if it's too early you can pop into Café Y for a spot of morning tea.
We now cruise through some of the most picturesque scenery in the Barossa, we cross the world famous Jacobs Creek as we head toward the heart of the Barossa Valley, the beautiful and historic township of Tanunda. You have time to wander up the main street and visit some local shops and points of interest, a perfect place to find a souvenir.
Lunch is a regional highlight. While we enjoy some of the Barossa's most internationally acclaimed wines at the beautiful Peter Lehmann winery a platter of the best meats, cheeses, olives, assorted vegetables and freshly baked bread the Barossa Valley has to offer is brought to your table. (There is a great vegetarian regional plate option also)
After lunch we enjoy a walk over to one of the most historic, and beautiful wineries in the Barossa, Langmeil is home to the oldest known Shiraz vineyard in the world. We walk through this vineyard and into the beautiful cellar door where we enjoy their world famous Barossa wines.
From Langmeil we wander up to Menglers Hill Lookout and take in the panoramic and breathtaking views over the beautiful Valley.
Continuing on we make our way though the Barossa Valley and feast our eyes on the beauty of the famous Seppeltsfield region. We view the iconic Seppeltsfield winery which ties in perfectly with the last winery we visit for the day.
We finish our day at Murray Street Vineyards on the opposite side of the Barossa Valley to where we started. This is one of the smaller wineries we visit however it has one of the greatest stories in the Barossa Valley. Owner and chief winemaker Andrew Seppelt is a 6th generation Barossa wine maker and brings together all his family's local knowledge with lessons he learnt while working in the famous old world wine regions of France. Murray Street Vineyards is a wonderful blend of the old and new world. With a little luck Andrew might pop in and you can ask one of the brightest wine making stars in the Barossa some questions.
This tour blends historical wineries, wonderful regional food, breathtaking scenery and the people that make the Barossa Valley a truly world class region, a day you are bound to enjoy.
