NASA, a world leader in the development of climate models, is opening an updated supercomputing center that will allow scientists to simulate and better understand Earth's climate and weather. With a supercomputer able to perform a staggering 160 trillion or more calculations per second and an enormous 17- by 6-foot video hyperwall, this new facility will allow us to view our complex planet with unparalleled clarity and see just how model projections are beginning to match up with real world events.
