Paraiba, originally found in Brazil differs itself from other similar colored tourmalines by the fact that is has high coper contents. This is why other deposits recently found in Africa, may not come from the Paraiba mine but is still under the umbrella term Paraiba. This is why you always want to make sure you have an origin report for the stone because they will fetch a premium.
