The old locomotive-hauled, double-deck DD-AR trains had been retired, but in December 2014 they were put back in service to cope with growing demands. I rode one from Rotterdam Alexander to Woerden, where I changed trains to a DDZ, which is basically just a refurbished DD-AR. I do think the DDZ is an improvement!
