During the Nacra 17 medal race at the 2023 World Championship, the Dutch pair of Laila van de Meer and Bjarne Bouwer put on a clinic on how to sail fast upwind. The pair won the start and were able to get up on the foils first. They then used their free lane to pull forward and then high to surge into the lead.
