When was the last time you got excited about a survey field controller? Leica Geosystems Product Manager Burke Asay believes the expanded line of Leica Captivate field controllers is worth some hype. A big fan of the rugged Leica CS20 field controller with its physical keyboard, going back to his days as a field surveyor, Burke has also experimented with the CS30 and large-screen CC200 tablets. Now, a new high-performance 8-inch tablet (the CC180) and a new lightweight, detachable keypad (the GKP100) that can be used with all the tablets, brings an unexpected level of flexibility to field workflows.
Burke shares why he was initially skeptical about the new release, what he experienced when testing the GKP100 with the CS30 tablet, and what the new Leica CC180 8-inch tablet brings to the mix.
