Following Hamas' attack on Israel, Austin's state and local leaders, including Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Austin Mayor Kirk Watson, rallied at the Dell Jewish Community Campus to express support for Israel and denounce antisemitism. During the gathering, Mayor Watson called for peace, while District 10 city council member Alison Alter and Texas Congressman Lloyd Doggett addressed the issues of antisemitism and the need for a non-violent approach to achieving peace, respectively.
