Eric Mele joins HVAC School once again to talk about refrigeration. This time, he goes through his tool bag to show refrigeration tools for tight spots.
One of Eric's favorite tools is a ratcheting magnetic wrench that allows you to attach driver/drill bits. His wrench has spots for 1/4" and 5/16" drill bits. He also keeps a bunch of small wrenches of varying sizes for tight spaces, including some double-open-ended ones.
Eric uses a magnetic parts tray to keep track of small metal parts in the field, including screws.
He also has driver attachments for his drill, including angled drivers and extensions. One of his extensions has a stiff brush for cleaning copper as well. Eric also keeps deep sockets for fan motors on hand.
Eric also keeps an 8-in-1 screwdriver, which is a versatile tool that can be used for large, easy-to-reach places as well as small, tight ones. He also has a versatile set of pliers with crimpers and wire strippers.
Beyond his main tool bag, Eric also has the latest Testo kit, which he can easily clip to his clothing and take to difficult spots.
