Compared to 2016 - the year 2017 had witnessed a 60% dip in stone pelting incidents in the Kashmir valley. The expectation is that 2018 will see a further cooling in tension. On 24th of November, 2017 the Government of Jammu & Kashmir announced that they would grant general amnesty to first time stone pelters. The initial estimates put the possible figure at 4000 youngsters who would have the state wipe their slates clean. The J & K government's efforts have been lauded by the national audience, but in Kashmir, the resonance is tinged with indifference or sarcasm. The two-part series of STONES IN PARADISE in its first report brings together the story of WHERE STONES FLY.
