Phillip Sear plays an economically—titled 1931 piece by the English composer and pianist Richard Walthew (1872-1951)

Born in the same year as Vaughan Williams, Walthew's 150th birth anniversary in 2022 went unnoticed (unlike that of RVW, a fellow-student of Walthew at the Royal College of Music). He had a varied career as conductor, teacher and composer, and wrote in many genres (but remembered mainly for chamber music today). You can read much more about him here: t.ly/bdq1
