Maderia Island is home to the world’s first digital nomad village in Ponta do Sol. You can find a free co-working space, an active nomad community and great tourism deals for travelling digital nomads. If you are looking for a place that offers all the amenities for remote work - plus incredible nature and a social community - then Madeira is definitely worth considering!
Madeira belongs to Portugal and classifies as EU. Within the European timezone and a 3 or 4 hour flight from mainland Europe, it is host to the world’s first digital nomad village and is attracting a lot of remote workers. It was a great place to relax, explore and work and I loved my time there.
