Fred Wilson has been funding NYC-based startups as a venture capitalist since 1986. His firm, Union Square Ventures has funded online success stories including Twitter, Foursquare, Meetup, Tumblr, Etsy, Del.icio.us, Tacoda and Zynga. Fred will share his thoughts on the NYC startup scene and the growing need for sector diversity, especially in energy and biotech, for NYC to be a true startup powerhouse on par with Silicon Valley and Boston. He will also discuss his relationship with NYU and the Polytechnic Institute and the importance of growing engineering talent in NYC.
