Take a time-lapse ride on the TransLink (@TransLink) Canada Line SkyTrain from Waterfront Station to YVR-Airport Station.

The TransLink Canada Line began operation in August 2009, ahead of the February 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver. Like the Expo and Millennium Lines before it the Canada Line is completely automated; however, the Canada Line uses different propulsion technology than the Expo and Millennium Lines which makes the rolling stock incompatible with the other two SkyTrain Lines. The Canada Line currently operates with two service branches, with 16 stations in total linking Downtown Vancouver to Vancouver International Airport and the City of Richmond. Outbound services from Waterfront Station diverge onto their respective branches after Bridgeport Station. Proposals currently exist for up to 4 additional infill stations to be added to the Canada Line (2 along Cambie Street at 57th Avenue and at 33rd Avenue, 1 at the proposed YVR Terminal 3, and 1 at Capstan Way in Richmond) at some point in the future with the new Capstan Way Station on the Richmond-Brighouse branch already under construction at the time this video was filmed.

All footage captured in this video was recorded on October 18, 2022. All filming was completed under the South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority (TransLink) Photography on Transit Property Policy with advance communication with, and notification to, the TransLink Corporate Communications Department.
