Greetings, I'm Tim of Govberg, and welcome to the world of Bulgari.
Today, I'll be your guide to the proper usage, care, and maintenance of your Bulgari Lvcea Moonphase.
Now, it's important to note that you can manually wind this automatic winding watch. Normally, the case back winding mass converts the energy of the wrist into mainstream barrel energy.
You'll know the watch is running because when you glance the case back, you will see that the balance is beating. Once the balance is beating, you can set the time, you can set the correct phase of the moon, and then you can put the watch on the wrist where it will continue to wind itself throughout usage.
You cannot accidentally overwind this automatic time piece, as the bridal style main spring is designed to slip and relieve any excess tension. So simply continue turning the watch until you a subtle click or tick. That's your sign that the bridal has slipped, the main spring is now fully wound.
In order to set the watch, pull the crown from its first position to its second position, and turn in a counter-clockwise direction to advance the hours and the minutes. Once the desired time has been set, return the crown to its flush position for water resistance and security.
To set the moon phase, look up a moon phase chart on the internet, and then set the watch to a new moon. In which case, no moon will be visible. Then, based on the age of the moon in days, as depicted in the moon chart online, use the pusher in the case flank, and push it a number of times corresponding to number of days past the new moon. Now you've set the correct moon phase.
It's important to note that the moon phase jumper is engaged between the hours of 8 pm and 3 am. It's important not to use the moon phase pusher adjuster during that span, as attempting to use the quick adjustment for the moon phase while the moon phase is itself jumping, can crash the movement and cause damage.
This time piece is water resistant, per the case back, which is inscribed to 5 ATM. For reference, this is a static test step, not an acknowledgment that the watch can be taken down to 50 meters of depth.
Rather, it insures that the watch is secure against inadvertent splashes, surface contact with water, or unexpected rainstorm. It does not mean that the watch is suitable for aquatic activities.
Now it's also important to note that you can help prevent accidental drownings, keep that crown flush to the case. Do not use it for winding, do not use it for setting. Leave the pusher adjuster at 9 o'clock, disused, when the watch is within water. Or simply when there is water on the case, as attempting to use these functions on a wet watch can bypass the seals and introduce water to the interior of the timepiece; the catastrophic consequences cosmetically and mechanically.
Moreover, Bulgari recommends having your watch water tested at an authorized service center, at minimum every 24 months. As water resistance, unlike mechanical specifications, is not a static feature of your timepiece.
And, as lubricants and seals age and dry, the watch may have relatively less hermeticity than when it left the factory. Therefore, water test no more than every 24 months.
Magnetism is a significant concern for the precision of your timepiece, as a magnetic field will alter the state of the [inaudible 00:04:36] hair spring at the center of your watch's beating balance. That hairspring and that balance are the heartbeat of your watch.
A magnetized hair spring will cause a watch to run radically. Perhaps quickly, perhaps slowly, perhaps both. But it will not keep good time. Keep the watch remote from refrigerator doors, the closures of purses and wallets, high powered wiring looms, speakers, subwoofers and MRI equipment, as all of these produce strong magnetic field densities.
While a magnetized watch can be quickly remediated, a concussed watch often cannot. Concussion, shock, and violence can dislodge the gems as well as the subtle features of your timepiece. Such as the crown, the flair of the bezel, the seating of the diamonds themselves, or even the hinges of the lugs.
The watch will perform from a chronometry standpoint, exactly as though it were new. Performing this exclusively at the factory authorized service center ensures that specialized tools and equipment, factory trained personnel and original Bulgari replacement parts are available to maintain the value of your watch as both an instrument and as an investment.
Moreover, only these agencies are authorized to back old laper and parts invested with a Bulgari factory service warranty.
