Many communities across Lokoja, the capital of Kogi state in North-Central Nigeria, have been hit by flood. Many residents were forced to leave their homes. The flood flooded most of the roads, people had to use only canoes.
Agricultural lands have suffered, food prices have risen sharply. Because of the flood, there were big shortages of drinking water. The depth of the flood in some places reached up to 5 meters in depth.
