The Pakistan Safety Council (PSC), established in 2010 under the Ministry of Labour, is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing workplace safety, health, and environmental standards across various industries in Pakistan. With a strong emphasis on education and advocacy, PSC has emerged as a trusted leader in promoting a culture of safety nationwide. Over the years, it has successfully addressed the critical need for safety education, transforming into a powerful force driving compliance and safety culture throughout the country. Currently, PSC boasts a robust network of over 1,200 individual members and more than 150 organizational members, representing a diverse array of sectors. The Council has trained over 50,000 professionals, equipping them with the essential skills and knowledge required to ensure workplace safety. Among its significant milestones, PSC introduced Pakistan's first National Unified Safety Courses, setting a new standard for safety education. The organization has forged strategic partnerships with key national and international entities, including Rescue 1122, the Emergency Services of Sindh, Punjab, and KPK, the Pakistan Heart Association, and the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), ensuring that Pakistani safety professionals remain globally competitive through alignment with international standards. PSC's core contributions include offering a variety of certified training programs tailored to industries such as construction, healthcare, logistics, and manufacturing, advocating for the development of workplace safety regulations, and providing exclusive resources and networking opportunities to its members. Looking ahead, PSC envisions expanding its reach to underdeveloped regions, leading innovative research in safety practices suited to Pakistan’s unique context, and strengthening collaborations with international safety organizations to enhance expertise in the country.
