This week on Fit Tip Tuesday I’m taking a break from working on the Efficient Workflow for Bodice Fitting. I want to make sure that the next pdf handout includes everything I covered last week, plus some Pink Zone fit adjustments I’m going to share next week. As luck would have it, I got a couple great questions about pants fitting I want to share. So up today, I’m sharing how important the position of the waist darts are to the fit of the waistline & the drape of the fabric! Did you know that a waist dart does more than just fit the waistline?? It also creates a cup shape and directs the fabric down the back of your leg. Just like positioning a bust dart properly, back waist darts need to be positioned so they agree with the shape of your behind. If you're working on fitting pants and the back view isn't what you're hoping for, take a minute and look at the back waist darts... You may need to move them, change the length of them or eliminate one (if you have two on each leg).
