The Early Years concluded the International Literacy Day celebration with the theme, “Transforming Learning Literacy Spaces.”

The celebration kicked off with every class listening to read aloud stories from the different authors of children’s storybooks. Creative artworks like elephant, goose, caterpillar, tree, and “gruffalo” were artistically created by students after the storytelling. K1’s and K2’s also did a fantastic drawing and painting during the poster making activity.

One of the highlights of this event was the Mystery Guest Storyteller. Grace from grade 5 brought everyone to listen to the story entitled, “Handa’s Surprise” by Eileen Browne. The children were delighted to identify the fruits and animals they saw in the book.

The colourful book inspired costumes of the EY students gave so much meaning to this event. The children confidently walked on the stage to showcase the costume and their book.
