Style should be something we can take pride in, highlighting and invigorating our unique and vibrant livelihoods. Fashion composes merely the thinnest layers of our being, and the clothing we don should reflect the strongest aspects of our identity.
A Dada-inspired film, THINNEST LAYERS is both an exploration and rejection of the consumerist nature of the fast fashion industry. Juxtaposing a minimalist approach to style against the more streamlined face of fast fashion, images of popular brands, cosmetic ads, and other textured elements were projected from a computer onto the bodies of two models. This is my interpretation of the temporary, almost transparent nature of the clothing being created by these brands.

Thank you to everyone who was involved in the making of this film—whether it was being patient with my directions, listening to my ramblings about fashion, or providing me with a salad and carrots when I forgot to eat while working on this project. Much love to you all.
