Ingredients:
-boneless skinless chicken breast cut into strips.
-buttermilk
-paprika
-cayenne pepper
-onion powder
-Granulated Garlic/Garlic Powder
-Dried Oregano
-Hot Sauce (optional)
-salt
-black pepper
-vegetable oil for frying
Breading Ingredients:
-White All Purpose flour
- a few table spoons of the seasoned buttermilk mixture
-Baking Powder
-Paprika
-Cayenne Pepper
-Salt
-Black Pepper
-Granulated Garlic/Garlic Powder
-Onion Powder
Note: Fry until lightly golden brown in medium heat for about 5-8 minutes depends of the thickness of your strips. Turn halfway through. When the strips are submerged in oil, they look a different color than what they really are. In order to avoid getting your strips darker than what they should be, lift one up from the oil to see the true color while they fry. Make sure the oil is hot enough before adding your chicken strips. I usually add a small crumb of the flour mixture, if it begins to sizzle immediately, your oil is ready to go. Keep in mind that even if your chicken strips look long when you cut them, they will shrink a bit once they are frying in the oil. The longer you leave in buttermilk, the more tender and juicy they will be!
