The D2868-V8 engine has a rating of 500 kW, i.e. 680 hp, and delivers maximum torque of 3,000 Nm for long-haul deployment -- rating and torque to the very max. Special sound engineering also gives the vehicle a sound that is soft, yet powerful at the same time. The new V8 engine makes the highest average speeds possible even when driving on difficult terrain. A separate engine version with adapted characteristics and a torque of 2,700 Nm is used in the normal TGX series for heavy-duty deployment. The D2868-V8 is equipped with the MAN AdBlue exhaust control system and complies with the Euro 5 emission limits and, in the long-haul version, even with EEV specifications.
