With an all-new Range Rover about to be revealed, should anybody in the market for a luxury car still be considering the current version? To find out, in this video Rebecca Jackson gets hold of the plug-in hybrid 2021 Range Rover P400e in Westminster Black Edition trim and sees how it fares for quality, space, technology, efficiency and driving manners.
The P400e combines a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and an electric motor for a total of 398bhp. That’s enough to get it from 0-60mph in just under six seconds. If you really crave more performance, there’s a supercharged V8 model with either 517- or 557bhp, or for slightly more sensible people, a choice of three six-cylinder diesels. However, in the plug-in hybrids favour is an electric only range of around 25 miles, and an official fuel economy figure of 85mpg. Would it be your luxury car of choice, or would you wait for the new model instead?
