Cathal Irwin is a Future Beef participant based in Ballyheane Co. Mayo. Cathal runs a herd of 20 suckler cows selling all progeny at 20 months of age. Cathal joined the Future Beef Programme in December 2021 with a focus on improving the overall sustainability of the farm. In this short video Cathal and his local Teagasc advisor Liam Quinn give an update on the farm discussing the farm system, grassland management, breeding, work life balance and plans for the future.
