A heartbreaking incident occurred at the Bhushi Dam waterfall in Lonavala when an entire family was swept away by the heavy rainfall and strong water currents. The tragic event, which took place during a family picnic, was caught on camera and has since gone viral on social media. The family of 17-18 members, including Yunus Ansari and Liaqat Ansari's relatives, were enjoying their day out when sudden torrential rains increased the water flow, trapping ten people in the flash flood.
Despite desperate attempts to save themselves, five family members were swept away. Fire brigade, police personnel, and local volunteers immediately launched a rescue operation. By the evening, three bodies were recovered, identified as 36-year-old Shaista Liaqat Ansari, 13-year-old Amina Adil Ansari, and 8-year-old Umair aka Salman Adil Ansari. The search continues for the remaining two missing children, 4-year-old Adnan Shabah Ansari and 9-year-old Maria Ansari.
This tragic event serves as a reminder of the dangers posed by sudden weather changes and the importance of safety near water bodies. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the affected families.
