Here we see NS local train P98 coupling up to export locomotive train 098. The locomotives on the flatcars are built in the United States by EMD and are classed as GT38AC. Their final destination is to the Ferronor Railway in Chile. NS P98 is coupling up to the train to bring it towards Morehead City, NC, where the export locomotives will be loaded onto a ship.
The 098 train came into Selma on its own with the run-through Union Pacific power. Rather than use another crew to bring the train to Morehead City, they decided to combine it with the daily P98 train from Selma, NC to New Bern, NC.
