Is your Clack valved water softener showing an error code? What does it mean? Is it something you can fix yourself or do you need to call a service technician? What do the error codes mean? Do the same error codes apply to tannin and iron filters too? How do you reset the valve to clear the error code?

Error Code 1001 – (or it could show E1, Err 101) Unable to recognize start of regeneration. The optical eye in the valve is not able to determine if the parts of the valve are in the correct location. It will try for a short time and then give you the error.
Error Code 1002 – (or it could show E2, Err 102) Unexpected stall, unable to find next cycle. Something is binding your piston in the spacer stack assembly.
Error Code 1003 – (or it could show E3, Err 103) – Motor ran to long, timed out trying to reach next cycle position.
Error Code E4 – Control valve motor ran too long. Drive bracket not snapped in properly. Snap it in and resync.
Error Code 1004 – (or it could show Err-104) - Motor ran to long, timed out trying to reach home position. Drive bracket not snapped in properly.
Error Code 1006 – (or it could show Err-116, Err 106) – Valve not recognizing MAV. Control valves programmed incorrectly.
Error Code 1007 – (or it could show Err-117, Err 107) Foreign matter is lodged in MAV causing mechanical binding.
