Wednesday, June 22 will be another scorching day in Charlotte, North Carolina, with highs in the upper 90s and a heat index over 100 degrees. On this episode of #WakeUpCLT To Go, meteorologist Chris Mulcahy and forecaster Larry Sprinkle discuss the extreme heat in North Carolina and South Carolina, and we're looking ahead to the weekend in Charlotte.
Highs will likely reach the upper 90s with mostly sunny skies. Some areas could hit the 100º mark. Dew Point temperatures will be low enough that no heat advisories are expected. An isolated shower or storm may develop late this evening in the Charlotte metro.
There's an Air Quality Alert in effect today from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. A Code Orange has been issued for Mecklenburg and Union counties.
The hot weather will continue Thursday, and the humidity will get cranked up, too. Highs will be in the 90s with a better chance of showers and storms in the afternoon. #ncwx #scwx
