Elkhorn Coral seen on a reef along the western coast of Puerto Rico. This rare species, Acrapora palmate, which once flourished throughout the shallow waters of the Caribbean and Florida, has been estimated to have decreased by 90 to 95% (or even more) in the past 40 years. The Elkhart Coral stands seen in this video show a very rare sight: rather robust stands of Elkhorn Coral in the year 2015. Much of the information in the voice-over was gleaned from the NOAA website on Elkhorn Coral: [ Ссылка ]
