A story that teaches us the importance of not judging.
Tell me all about it!
Dear Diary,
Today a knew teacher arrived at school. First, I wasn’t sure if I was going to like him. I didn’t know him at all!
I loved my old teacher, but she moved to another State. So, this new teacher arrived at our school.
Mr. Rob asked us to introduce ourselves. He asked about our names and what we liked most. He said it was a way to know us better.
When it was time to introduce myself, I didn’t mention that I love skiing on the mountains with my family.
Usually, when I talk about my ski lessons in winter, nobody pays attention to me. They are not interested because nobody I know skis, so I don’t talk about it too much.
Next day, my parents drop me at school with the ski boots, because we were going to donate them after school before buying new ones.
Mr. Rob saw me in the hallway with the ski boots. He came to me staring at them with curiosity.
- ''Hello, Eduard! How are you? Do you ski?''
- ''Yes, I do…''
- ''Wow, that’s awesome! Tell me all about it!
First, I was confused because he showed interest in my ski boots. Then, I explained that I love skiing, and he was not only asking me about the stories that I was telling him… he even seemed truly interested in them!
After the Winter break, I thought he was going to forget my stories, because there were a lot of children in the school.
When he saw me, the first thing he said was:
- ''How was skiing with your family?''
And then… he said my new favorite sentence:
-'‘’Tell me all about it!’’
Dear diary, this story about Mr. Rob had taught me that we shouldn’t judge before getting to know a person.
Thank you for listening!
