Trajan’s column is historical landmark from the 2nd Century AD, the peak of imperial Rome. At the time, Rome was very structured with a great economy, industry, trade, agricultural habits. Wealthy individuals would spend a lot of money on virtue and tradition. This column represents military celebration, read from the books for scrolls (unravels from top to bottom). It also celebrates and displays collective political and social memory, shown by the small soldier and horse figures, which are all drawn differently. It was done by having statues and columns, as seen here. It is a reminder in Rome of identity, as it remembers and makes present those that are absent. It is the success of the empire Rome.
