Turkey’s eastern provinces have been hit by heavy #snowfalls, with the #snow depth reaching some 20 centimetres in the #Van and 40 centimetres in #Kars province, disrupting transportation and traffic.
Crews worked throughout the night and into the morning to clear the roads with the help of heavy vehicles.
Residents were also struggling to shovel the snow off the roads and the access to their homes and businesses on Saturday.
In #Sarıkamış, a key winter tourism destination in Kars province, the snow depth has reached 40 centimetres.
