Smart features in new cars, like digital console screens and rearview mirrors are driving demand for Chinese motorists and passengers.
At a dealership in Shanghai, customers say the cockpit's layout is a top priority when it comes to buying a new car.
Upstream companies, meanwhile, are working hard to fill orders for components.
In east China's Ningbo City, a company that produces console screens is buzzing with activity.
Its manager said this year's output value is expected to hit more than 650 million U.S. dollars, a 30 percent increase from last year.
Elsewhere in east China, a company making intelligent seats has also seen an uptick in orders.
Analysts expect China's smart cockpit market to top 60 billion U.S. dollars by 2030, when it's projected to account for over 30 percent of the global market share.
