With my new fascination over all things related to pop-ups (cards and books), I made this giant card/scene for my brother-in-law, whose nickname is "hippo" for some reason. It revolves around scenery we know (University of Wyoming campus) and incorporates a little play on words. I tried the mechanisms after having watched only a few videos, though, and really should have waited until I knew more. Still, it's a decent first effort and is semi-amusing (to me). :)

It uses flaps, automatic pull-tabs, a V-fold, some parallelograms and boxes, a tent fold, and mechanisms that require full opening to 180 degrees as well as "background" kinds that open to only 90 degrees.

(I made this about a month ago, but waited to post this video publicly until it was given to my brother-in-law.)
