Annamalai, Tamil Nadu State BJP leader, vehemently opposed the Tamil Nadu government’s ban on the live telecast of the Ram Temple consecration ceremony event in Ayodhya on January 22. Speaking to the ANI, he said, “The Madras High Court has ordered that there shall be no restrictions to telecast the Pran Pratishtha live on private premises. In the case of Temples controlled by HRCE, all that Bhakts have to do is to give prior intimation. The Honourable Supreme Court has mentioned that since there is no written order, the government of Tamil Nadu cannot ban live telecast proceedings, bhajans. In case of any future ban, SC will enquire into all of those bans and all of the orders in the coming days." He opined that the Supreme Court has ordered that based on oral orders, the fundamental rights of individuals cannot be restricted by the State govt of Tamil Nadu.
