Deep south Texas is the only place in the United States with a breeding population of wild Ocelots. An estimated 80 of the rare cats cling to a precarious existence in the thick thorn scrub brush of southernmost Texas, and Dr. Hilary Swarts, Ocelot biologist with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, is determined to save the endangered cats.
