Anyone knows what the root of the word mythology is? If someone wants to shout, it's a Greek word, obviously.
Huh? Uh, mythos. Who said that? Hey, applause for him. He's right....... The root is a Greek word called mythos. And the dictionary defines mythology often as a fanciful tale which may have some elements of truth sometime, which is a very west, modern, colonial, Western way of looking at it, that whatever religion they believed was the truth. Everything else was mythology.
Uh, but actually, if you go into what the Greeks actually meant by mythos, it is a story that hides the philosophical truth. So the more important than the story itself are the philosophies that you want to convey. And you will find ancient Indians followed this tradition as well. So we would keep contemporizing our stories repeatedly for, you know, thousands of years.
This has been a rich ancient Indian tradition where we would bring in modern messages in the stories of the old.
