The Government of Ireland INFOMAR (Integrated Mapping for the Sustainable Development of Ireland’s Marine Resource) programme with a primary aim to map the physical, chemical and biological features of Ireland’s seabed has kindly contributed to “The Coastal Atlas of Ireland” though a chapter in this publication and has also supported the production of complimentary online videos, which can be accessed through GEOCOAST. These videos add some life to the printed book by presenting informal footage of people involved in writing parts of the text and provide additional insight into the subject areas dealt with in each of the chapters, along with contributing towards increasing people's awareness, understanding and appreciation of Ireland's coastal and marine environments.
