The purpose of this video is to show you how to initiate a manual defrost on the KE2 Evaporator Efficiency controller.
A good place to start this process is when you are at the home point, whenever the display is showing the room temperature read out.
To verify that you are at this point, press the back button a couple of times, to verify that you are at this position. from there, you can scroll right or left, to get to the top of Manual Menu column.
Once you are at the Manual Menu column, you can now scroll up and down within this column, using the up or down arrow.
If you have not entered your password at this point, it will prompt you for the password.
Hit the Enter key one time, and you can change the value of the individual digits using the up and down arrow button. And change the digit that is highlighted using the left or right arrow. So, once you have your password entered, press and hold the Enter button for three seconds. And, you are back at the Manual Menu column.
Now, to initiate a defrost, you are looking for the Manual Control variable. Once you see that displayed, press the Enter button one time. And it will tell you the current condition, or current mode, that the controller is in.
So, it is telling us that it is in refrigeration mode currently. I want to move it to the Defrost mode. So, I'm going to press and hold the Enter button for three seconds, and now basically it's manually initiating a defrost. And it will run through a normal defrost cycle until you either hit your termination temperature or termination time length. If you want to kick through the defrost, you don't want to wait the entire defrost time, then hold the enter key down for another three seconds. Now, its gone into Drain mode. The default value for Drain mode is for two minutes. Then, if you don't want to wait for that, you can again hold down the Enter for three seconds. Now, I'm going into my Evaporator Fan Delay mode where my compressor is running. Just hold the fans off until the evaporator is down to 20 degrees. I'll take it back to Refrigeration mode, again hold Enter for three seconds.
Now, we're back to the Refrigeration mode.
That is the process to initiate a manual defrost. Press the Back button to get back to the room temperature readout, and this process is complete.
