The Wittelsbacher Fountain in Munich, Germany was built in 1895 by Adolf von Hildebrand. It was erected to commemorate the completion of the city's new municipal water supply system. The man on horseback and the woman sitting on a bull symbolize the destructive and healing powers of water.
