The NYMR once again steps up and hosts an all out action Autumn gala featuring three visiting locomotives which all put on some memorable performances up the 1/49 Bank and beyond Goathland. The three guests were of all big interest to the avid enthusiast with Great Western Saint class Lady Of Legend topping the Bill as the star guest. The relatively new loco would have a mixed weekend of fortunes and after a shaky start the Great West Westerner finally came good. An engine that would have no issue with the Moorsline would be the former LMS and BR 8F 48305 arriving from the Great Central Railway. The 8F would be the star of the show for many enthusiasts with some excellent performances especially when doubled headed with 5428 where it was required to haul the whole train including an almost dead Black Five. The final guest was LNER 60163 Tornado which is no stranger to the NYMR and as expected was on fine form. A few of the home fleet are featured but the main coverage is focused on the visiting engines.
Another fantastic display from the North York Moors Railway for all concerned and we enjoyed our time on the trains and behind the camera. I hope you enjoy the sights and sounds of the one of the finest preserved railways in existence.
18.01 is the 8F with 5428, not the 9F & 20.00 is again the 8F, not the 9F as captioned, apologies.
