The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa says its busiest rail corridors of Mabopane and Cape Town should be fully operational by end of the year.
Commuter rail services in these corridors were adversely affected when vandals stole copper cables and other critical infrastructure during the first hard lockdown. Transport Deputy Minister Dikeledi Magadzi visited the Wolmerton Train Depot alongside Rail Safety Regulator officials to inspect compliance.
