This high end handheld (this particular one 1983) reports of low range on TX, though I've no idea how the owner was trying it.

The antenna was incorrectly fitted & the insulator grommet 'shoved on the top'. I've a sneaking feeling the aerial was sometimes being shorted to chassis.

Anyway, it's spot on now. On the air test with Mr C follows in the next video. I also tried the set on it's own aerial.
