City suffers; two killed and 13 injured
Two people died and 13 people were injured in the latest round of fighting in the Bosnian capital of Sarajevo on Wednesday evening (7/6). Tank and artillery battles continued to rage in Sarajevo and the surrounding suburbs and explosions rocked the city centre and the hills above the Bosnian capital. Tanks on the Serb side of the confrontation line could clearly be seen firing into government held areas. It's alleged phosphorous bombs were used by the Serb forces. Residential areas were targetted and a number of houses were destroyed. Government forces are trying to cut Serb road links between Serb-held Sarajevo and their stronghold Pale, located 16 kilometres (10 miles) southeast of the city. The few people still on the streets of Sarajevo ran for cover as grenades fell all around.
