Raga Bihag is a Hindustani classical raga belonging to the Bilaval Thaat. It is a melodious Raaga for beginners as well as experts. Raga Bihag uses all seven music swars. In Bihag, both the Madhyams (Shuddha & teevra) are used.

Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan performs an alap and a drut teentaal gat in the beautiful romantic evening raag. Watch how he executes the shrutis of the two madhyams of the raag in the alap. The mood of the gat is such that it demands to be played at a speed that is slower than usual druts in sitar. But what is perhaps not visible from the Ustad's effortless playing is that the taans require that much more control to execute.
