(19 Jan 2019) Amsterdam's famous Dam Square was covered with traditional blooms on Saturday in celebration of National Tulip Day.
A unique tulips garden covering 2,500 square metres (26,910 square feet) was specially created for the event, with 200-thousand tulips in multiple colours.
Visitors were invited to pick the blooms for free.
Professional tulip growers were in attendance to help visitors make up their bouquets and give them tips on growing the flowers.
The Netherlands is the world's biggest tulip producer.
Over the season Dutch producers are expecting to grow with production of more than two billion tulips, which are exported to more than 100 countries worldwide.
